Final Field For The 2010 Queen Of The South Stakes

Due to jump at just after 3.30pm this Saturday afternoon at the Morphettville Racecourse, is the $150,000 Group 2 Queen of the South Stakes (1600m), and the race will form part of the prestigious Adelaide Racing Carnival.

Taking place as the sixth race of eight, the 2010 Queen of the South Stakes will see ten fillies and mares start on Saturday, competing at set weights with penalties for a share in the $150,000 purse.

Starting from barrier two is Amberino, and with the advantage of her barrier draw could succeed on Saturday.

Drawing the inside barrier is the filly Fomalite, while out wide is the Peter Moody contender Returntosender who recently won a 1,400 metre handicap at Caulfield from barrier 10 so should not be written off.

Starting from barrier two is Amberino, who recently finished second in the Victoria Handicap (1400m), and with the advantage of her barrier draw could succeed on Saturday.

Also taking place on Saturday alongside the 2010 Queen of the South Stakes will be the $100,000 Group 3 D C McKay Stakes (1100m).
