Aiming for a third consecutive victory this weekend, talented three-year-old Tango’s Daughter is currently outright favourite in betting markets for success in the 2014 Queen Of The South Stakes at a quote of $3.30, ahead of Golden Penny ($7), Floria ($7.50) and Maybe Discreet ($11).

Will Tango’s Daughter claim a maiden win at Group level in the Queen Of The South Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals cause an upset?

1st

Floria ($7.50)

Securing four wins and 11 places from 33 race starts to date, Floria offers punters great chance of success in this weekend’s Queen Of The South Stales, particularly having drawn the ideal barrier 4. While yet to hit peak condition over three appearances this time in, the Savabeel mare finished a fighting second in the Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) first-up and is a noted performer in autumn/winter events; finishing second in both the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1600m) and Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) in 2013. Confirmed to be partnered by Luke Nolen, trainer Peter Moody is confident of a return to the winner’s circle for Floria this weekend.

2nd

Tango’s Daughter ($3.30)

Claiming four wins and a place from only eight competitive starts to date, Tango’s Daughter has returned to the track in scintillating form this preparation; finishing a strong third in the Listed MSS Security Stakes (1100m) first-up before claiming back-to-back victories in the Hilton Manufacturing Fillies Maiden (1300m) and Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m) in her two most recent appearances. Despite drawing the slightly wide barrier 9, trainer Mick Price is confident talented jockey Dean Yendall will get the most from his runner in the Queen Of The South Stakes.

3rd

Double Dee ($9)

Yet to finish outside the places in seven starts since September, Double Dee offers punters sensational value for money at current $9 odds, or $3.10 for a place. While untested in a Group level event, Double Dee has been confirmed to be partnered by jockey Daniel Stackhouse, who steered the Dubleo mare from poor field position to finish just off the pace of May’s Dream in the Pantry Packer Handicap (1523m) last time out.
