Marianne ($3.70) has returned to racing in typically slick form this time and has maintained status as outright favourite in 2015 Queen of The South Stakes betting markets as a result, ahead of clear market mover Atlantis Dream ($6), Girl In Flight and Japhils; currently sharing the third line at $6.50 odds with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Will Marianne justify favouritism and win the 2015 Queen Of The Turf Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals find the line in the clear?

Marianne ($3.70)

Marianne has posted several typically commendable results since returning to racing this time, will leave from the ideal barrier 6 and has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Hugh Bowman in the 2015 Queen Of The South Stakes. Running second in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) and third in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) in March, the Darci Brahma mare was transferred to the stables of Leon and Troy Corstens to continue her racing career based out of Victoria and placed third in the Listed Anniversary Vase (1400m) on April 18th. Having finished outside the first three only a handful of times through her career to date, Marianne should win the 2015 Queen Of The Turf Stakes.

Girl In Flight ($6.50)

Girl In Flight has also returned to racing in good form this season but will need some luck in running from the outside gate and with a race-high 57kgs. Posting four wins and as many minor place finishes through her 15 career starts so far, the Commands mare ran fourth in the Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) first-up; progressing to a close second in the Sunline Stakes before a luckless run for fifth in the Ross Stevenson Trophy (1600m) last time out. Jockey Matt Allen knows this horse inside and out and should find a good position for the four-year-old early despite the wide draw.

Japhils ($6.50)

Three-year-old Japhils is weighted well, and while also requiring luck from barrier 12, is sure to be given a gem of a ride from veteran and cool-headed hoop Dean Yendall this weekend. Claiming two wins and a close second from her six career starts, the Choisir filly was unable to make much of an impact over her first three appearances this time but has found exceptional condition leading into the Queen Of The Turf Stakes in running second in the Geoff Murphy Handicap (1400m) before returning to the winner’s circle in the Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m) last weekend.
